This 1955 Chevrolet 3100 Stepside Short Bed Pickup has been professionally transformed into a high-end custom restomod, combining classic Task Force styling with modern performance, advanced suspension, and premium interior appointments. Finished in striking Pearl Orange, this pickup features a fuel-injected 350 V8, air suspension, independent front suspension, four-link rear suspension, and numerous custom upgrades throughout.
The body has undergone a complete restoration with extensive metalwork before being professionally refinished in House of Kolor Pearl Orange. Exterior modifications include shaved fuel filler, shaved fender emblems, improved body panel alignment, restored chrome trim, chrome grille, chrome bumpers, mirrors, headlight surrounds, and custom timber bed flooring with polished stainless bed strips. A unique electronically operated timber bed panel provides concealed access to the relocated fuel filler. The truck rides on 18-inch chrome Foose Legend wheels.
The custom interior is finished in premium Cream upholstery and features a reupholstered bench seat, matching custom door panels, custom headliner, Tan carpeting, billet pedals, AutoMeter instrumentation, chrome tilt steering column, billet steering wheel, Lokar floor shifter, retractable three-point seat belts, Vintage Air air conditioning, RetroSound-style audio system, and a wired controller for the air suspension system.
Power is supplied by a professionally built Chevrolet 350 cubic-inch V8 equipped with a Vortec bottom end, aluminum cylinder heads, mild performance camshaft, and Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection. Additional upgrades include a polished aluminum radiator, electric cooling fan, billet serpentine drive system, polished intake manifold, custom valve covers, and a custom dual exhaust system with side exits.
The engine is paired with a Turbo 700R four-speed automatic transmission, delivering power through a Ford 9-inch rear differential equipped with a TrueTrac limited-slip differential and 4.11:1 gearing.
The chassis has been extensively upgraded with a Mustang II independent front suspension featuring tubular control arms, ShockWave air suspension, rack-and-pinion power steering, and a custom parallel four-link rear suspension with Panhard bar and ShockWave air springs. Braking performance has been upgraded with four-wheel power disc brakes, slotted front rotors, underfloor power booster, and dual master cylinder. A relocated rear-mounted fuel cell and onboard air tank and compressor system complete the modern chassis package.
